But local legend tells of four pirate captains who refused to surrender to the sea.

Caught in a storm that shattered their fleet, they vanished beneath the black waves of the Atlantic. Their treasure was never recovered. Their ships were never found. Yet fishermen still tell stories of seeing their ghostly sails drifting through the fog when the wind is right.

Known only as the Pirates of the Graveyard, these cursed captains are said to patrol the waters of Black Tip Shoals, protecting their lost treasure and guiding—or misleading—those who dare enter their domain.

This design captures the spirit of those legends. Four fearsome pirate skulls rise from the crashing surf, surrounded by the chaos of the sea and the mystery of the Outer Banks. It's a tribute to the shipwrecks, folklore, and untamed waters that earned this coastline its legendary name.
